Because we don’t want company reports to contain outdated information we give them an expiry date. Company credit reports and director reports last for one year from the date of purchase; they are then removed from the account holder’s account. Expiry dates can be found in the “Expires” column when in the “My Company Reports” and “My Director Reports” area.

Yesterday we posted about our two different company tracker services. What we didn’t mention was that as well as being able to buy trackers individually; you can also purchase trackers as part of our subscription packages.
With our subscription packages we will provide you with a set number of credits to be used up within a set period of time. One credit equals one service, including company trackers (standard and lifetime are both available so you might as well use the lifetime!). If you wish to monitor the activity of a limited company the company tracker is ideal. When you purchase one of our company tracker services we will email you whenever your tracked limited company makes a filing change with Companies House.

Included as part of this information is the director’s date of birth. This date is sourced from either the company incorporation documents or the “AP01: Appointment of director” document. Both of which are filed with Companies House.

If you purchase company credit reports with us you may notice that the “Turnover” in the “Accounts” area is sometimes zero, even if you know that the company has been trading. This is because of a “Disclosure Threshold” whereby *small companies do not have to file turnover or detailed profit and loss accounts with Companies House.
*A company is deemed to be small if it meets two of the following conditions:
• Annual turnover no more than £6.5 million
• Balance sheet total no more than £3.26 million
• No more than 50 employees

Our company search function searches for limited companies by default. The following company types all fall under the limited company category:
• Private Limited by Shares
• Limited by Guarantee
• Limited Liability Partnership
If you would like to complete a search on a non-limited company, select “Advanced Search” from our homepage and then tick the “Non Limited” box.

If you’re not sure simply select the “View sample” option next to each report type. You’ll then be presented with a mock report to demonstrate the type of information you can expect to receive.

Group structure demonstrates ownership of a group of companies when companies own shares in each other.
This information is provided in our Fully Comprehensive company report (available for £5.45) and can be found in the “Group Structure” tab once the report has been purchased. Please note that if there is no group structure in a company this area of the report will be blank.

Our Company Search facility allows you to see precisely what documents a company has filed with Companies House. This includes company accounts. Therefore, if you’ve lost track of what your company has filed and when, we can help. Simply search for your company from our homepage. You’ll then be presented with a list of what has been filed (including company accounts online) along with the option to purchase any of these filed documents.

Our company reports will only include shareholder information once a company has filed annual returns (if returns have been filed the information can be found in the “Directors” area of the report). But fear not, we can still provide shareholder information if you purchase the company’s incorporation documents.
