It is possible to find share information for a limited company. This includes:
There are two methods to go about locating this information:
Via a Company Report
Our Standard Credit and Fully Comprehensive company reports will include share information if the company has filed an annual return. You can check if a return has been filed by searching for the company from our homepage, selecting the correct company from the results page and then waiting for the list of documents to load on the following page. If a return has been filed you will see the abbreviation ‘AR01’ in the list. If it’s there, go ahead and purchase either our Standard Credit or Fully Comprehensive report, the share information can be found in the ‘Directors’ tab. If a return hasn’t been filed don’t worry, simply proceed…
Via the Incorporation Documents
Search for the company from our homepage, select the correct company from the results page and then wait for the list of documents to load on the following page. At the very bottom of the list you will see ‘NEWINC – INCORPORATION DOCUMENTS’, proceed to purchase this document (£2.50 plus VAT). The share information can be found in the ‘Statement of Capital’ and ‘Initial Shareholdings’ sections of the document.
Important!
Companies do not need to notify Companies House of share changes as and when they happen. Companies House only need to be notified via the annual return when it’s due. Therefore the information provided in reports and documents is only correct up to the last filing or the date of incorporation if nothing has been filed.
