Limited Company Directors are a peculiar breed in that they often use variations of their name when being appointed as a Director.
For example (these are not real companies or appointments!):
• in ABC Ltd I am Mathew Aitken
• in 123 Ltd I am Mathew Joseph Aitken
• in XYZ Ltd I am Matthew Aitken (I was appointed by a colleague who was unfamiliar with my parent’s strange spelling)
Unfortunately this causes us a problem. Even though each of the above is me, the 3 different spellings are recognised as 3 different people.
Therefore, if you were to buy a Director Report on me, the directorships tab (the part of the report that details all the companies that I am or was a Director of) will only show other companies that share that particular spelling.
What can you do about this?
We recommend searching for possible variations of the director’s name, if you think you’ve found any (this is where the date of birth comes in handy) get in touch and we’ll happily look into the matter further.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
