Why are the Statutory Dates empty in my Company Report?

All of our company reports include statutory date information; these dates comprise of “Last Accounts Made Up To”, “Date Accounts Filed” and “Last Return Made Up To”. If any of this information is blank, it simply means that the accounts or returns have not been filed yet.

Company Credit Report: What’s the Period?

company accountsIf you have purchased a company report you may wonder what the “period” under the “Accounts” heading is. This represents the number of months that the last accounts filed covered. For example, if the “Date From” is 31/10/11 and the “Date To” is 31/10/12, the “Period” will be 12, as in 12 months.

Why’s the SIC Code in my Company Report 4 digits long?

As long as the company has filed an annual return, all of our company reports include the company SIC (standard industrial classification) code. If a return has not been filed, this field will be blank.

You may notice that some companies have a four digit code while others have a five digit code. The four digit codes are the old ones, the five digit codes are the new ones. Therefore, if a company is using a four digit code, they simply haven’t filed a return since the new codes came in place.

Company Documents: What’s the date?

purchasing documentsWhen purchasing the annual return (AR01) and annual account (AA) documents from us, you’ll notice that the document description includes a date. For example “AR01 – 14/10/11”. This is the date that the returns (or accounts) were made up to, not the date that they were accepted by Companies House. The accepted date can be found from within the document.

Event History tells you what happened and when

The “Standard Credit” and “Fully Comprehensive” company reports include a feature called “Event History”. This is a timeline that displays significant events in a company’s lifetime such as:

• New appointments
• New accounts filed
• Resignations
• Registered Office change
• New returns filed

Because reports are not live, once purchased the event history remains static.

My Company Report does not include the Company Status or SIC Code!

company credit checkDon’t worry. There’s nothing wrong with your report. We take the company status information from the annual accounts and the SIC code information from the annual returns. Therefore if the company has not yet filed either of these (not strange for newer companies) this information will be blank.
